E-mail bksleuth@garden.net to reserve a book. Please refer to the ID# when ordering - this is the [GS...], [BS...] , etc. # at the end of an individual listing. I'll get back to you as soon as possible (usually within 24 hours) to confirm that I'm holding your order, for ten days, for receipt of payment - either by check or money order [in U.S. funds]. N.J. residents please add 6% sales tax.
The books are offered subject to prior sale. If a book you've requested has been sold, I will notify you.
Any book is returnable if you are not happy with it, for refund of the purchase price. I do ask that you notify me, upon receipt, if a return is contemplated, and that your wrapping be as careful as mine was.
Please note that we only fill orders outside the U.S. which are over $50.00.
Postage & Handling Charges (within the U.S.)
Books are Shipped by Priority Mail:
$3.50 for the first book, $1.00 for each additional book. For paperbacks, $3.50 for the first, and .50 for additional.
Insurance:
$.85 buys you insurance for up to fifty dollars worth of books.
Postage & Handling Charges (outside the U.S.)
For orders outside the U.S. (over $50.00), the postage charges will be quoted based upon the actual postal costs, so please provide the mailing address when placing an order.
Juvenile titles are listed alphabetically by Author.
The listings for Girls Series and Boys Series Books are alphabetical, by the FIRST name of the series' subject. (In a few instances, such as for Janet Lambert's and Enid Blyton's series, I've used the author's last name as the index.)
Whitman Authorized Books, Big Little Books, and Better Little Books are listed on the "Whitman Books Page". However, other Whitman Series books (such as Trixie Belden and Donna Parker) are to be found in their respective Series Lists.
If you have any questions, or would like a more detailed description or a scanned picture of a particular volume, please don't hesitate to ask. (Please refer to the ID# of the book; it'll be a big help.) If a book has a dj, it will be described and graded at the end of the listing.
Grading and Common Abbreviations
These basics are further qualified with minus or plus signs in the GD and VG categories; when deciding whether or not to say "GD++" or "VG- -" I've tried to detail all the faults, and then given my best overall view of how the book appears. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
By clicking on the Magnifying Glass icons scattered throughout the listings you can find out more about an author or a series. To return to the listings, just click on the "back" button, in the Browser Menu. Currently, there are two sets of pages, with information about various Girls' Series and Boys' Series. For the most part, the information deals with the lesser known series, and I'm adding more all the time.
If you have any questions, or information to share about a particular series, author, or book, please don't hestitate to send an 'e' to Sarah at The Book Sleuth. I'll be happy to answer any questions I can, or include your information, with your name, on the page.
